"Dana!"
The blonde gave a sigh as she heard her younger sister yell her name as she ran through the house.
"Danaaa!" She whines again.
"In here Celia!" She calls out to the brunette as she closes the book on her lap and puts it on the bed before pulling her long legs up and crossing them.
"Oh! Hi! I need to interview you!" Celia grinned happily.
"Interview me? For what?" Dana raised a brow and crossed her arms over her chest. Celia was working very hard on her journalism class in her senior year in highschool. It had been a hard adjustment since their mom had died a month ago in a work accident. But the girls were managing.
"For a piece I'm writing. Please?? It's perfect for you! It's about food!"
The mention of food grabs her attention and she eyes her sister closely. "Alright alright, what's the article about?"
"Well it's answering the question 'What do the days of the week taste like' !" She beams and opens her note book. "I'm asking a bunch of people and then comparing it! It's going to be on the front page!"
Dana smiled to her little sister and ruffled her hair. "Alright alright, Ms. Front page. I need to get dinner started, come in the kitchen with me and I'll answer that, is it all 7 days? Or the 5 day work week?" She questions as both her and her sister make her way down to the kitchen.
"All 7 days! Starting with Monday! Just like the british calendars in our rooms!" She giggles at her sisters side before stopping at the threshold to the kitchen. Mom had done all she could to teach her girls the love of food, but since her death she still couldn't bring herself to enter the kitchen. Dana turned back and looked to her with a small frown. "You can't come in yet can you?" As Celia shook her head and teared up Dana stepped forward and knelt down to hug her sister close. "Shh... shh it's okay. How about we get a pizza tonight okay? We can get whatever you want and I'll answer your questions while we eat.... Okay?"
She sniffled but nodded, holding onto her older sister tightly around the middle. Scooping Celia up Dana walked to the living room and ordered the pizza. Using the time it took to calm her sister down. Once it got there they ate straight from the box and she answered the days of the week slowly so her sister could jot down notes.
"Okay okay... so Sundays.. what to sundays taste like?" Celia asked looking up from her notebook.
"Sundays...Sundays start out warm and comfy, like hot chocolate and pecan rolls... then they get a little savory, like... 5 cheese pasta bake... but the night? The night has a kick like cocktails on the beach..." Dana replied, eyes closed and head cocked to one side.
"Why a kick at night?" Celia questioned.
"Because Sunday nights are when you realize Monday is coming again and the work week starts allll over again." She smiled as her emerald eyes opened again.
"Mom used to have a drink of wine on the beach after we went to bed when I was really little... was it for the sunday kick?" She asked as Dana smiled.
"You know what? It may have been..." Celia nodded and curled up against her older sister with a yawn.
"I love you Dana..."
"I love you too Celia."
